RoseGemShop Expands Into Fine Body Jewelry with Oregon Sunstone and More<\/strong><\/p>\n

At RoseGemShop, we\u2019ve always believed that jewelry should be personal, meaningful, and just a little bit magical. What started as a passion project making ear gauges for stretched lobes has grown into a full-fledged gemstone jewelry shop\u2014and now, we\u2019re expanding into even more exciting territory: handcrafted body jewelry made with fine metals and vibrant natural gemstones.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re new to the shop or have been following since the beginning, we\u2019re thrilled to share the story behind our newest creations\u2014septum rings, flatback threaded ends, and soon, belly rings, cartilage hoops, daith rings, and more.<\/p>\n

It Started With Gauges\u2026 and a Problem to Solve<\/h3>\n

RoseGemShop began with a simple idea: make stretched-ear jewelry that looks great, feels light, and doesn\u2019t stretch your ears out more than you want. Our founder, Brian Rose, knows this challenge firsthand. As someone who wears gauges, Brian had trouble finding stylish pieces in bold colors that weren\u2019t too heavy or clunky for everyday wear. Most glass and stone plugs, while beautiful, weighed too much to comfortably wear all day\u2014especially without risking upsizing.<\/p>\n

The solution? A creative blend of Oregon Sunstone (mined by Brian himself!) crushed into a food-grade, ultra-light epoxy resin. This unique formula allowed for bold colors, real gemstones, and daily wearability\u2014all while staying lightweight and comfortable.<\/p>\n

That idea struck a chord. Our signature resin gauges, filled with shimmering Oregon Sunstone in hues ranging from golden peach to vibrant pink and red, quickly became our bestsellers. And they still are today. They’re comfortable, eye-catching, and totally unique\u2014just like the people who wear them.<\/p>\n

Why Body Jewelry Was the Next Step<\/h3>\n

Living and working in a college town, one thing became very clear: body jewelry is everywhere<\/em>. Septum rings, nostril hoops, flatback studs, daith and helix piercings\u2014these aren\u2019t niche anymore; they\u2019re everyday adornments, often worn by people looking for something a little more personal than mass-produced stainless steel jewelry.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Brian got inspired to create something that combined the comfort and style of body jewelry with the same artisanal touch and local stones that RoseGemShop is known for.<\/p>\n

We started experimenting with small-batch designs using solid 14k gold\u2014no plating, no filler\u2014and setting them with hand-selected Oregon Sunstones, black spinel, and rhodolite garnets. The results have been stunning.<\/p>\n
